It's a Wonderful Life (1946)

George Bailey has lived in Bedford Falls all his life. He has dreams to travel but he helps his friends and family, because of a rich skin flint named Mister Potter, who wants to take over the town and because he runs the Savings and Loan company that his father founded. But on Christmas Eve, his Uncle Billy is supposed to deposit eight thousand dollars in the bank but misplaces it. When George finds out he frantically demands Uncle Billy to find it otherwise they'll lose the bank, but he can't remember what happened to it. Unfortunately Potter finds the money and hides it from Billy. Desperate, George goes to Mister Potter to borrow it from him, even offering his life insurance policy but he refuses, telling him that he's worth more dead than alive. At the end of his rope, George contemplates suicide but his guardian angel named Clarence comes to Earth to help and explains to him that if he can convince him of his self-worth then he gets his wings. So he shows him what the world would be like if he didn't exist. His wife is a spinster without children, Bedford Falls is now named Pottersville, a sleazy town with gambling and nightclubs and his brother whom he saved from freezing to death after falling through thin ice isn't alive because George wasn't there to save him. After seeing this, George wants to live again and he realizes that even though he may not be rich in wealth, he's rich when it comes to friendship. One of the greatest films ever made; Jimmy Stewart is unforgettable this heart-warming story. Starring James Stewart, Donna Reed, Lionel Barrymore, Thomas Mitchell, Henry Travers, Gloria Grahame, Frank Albertson 10/10
