Steven Russell is a seemingly ordinary family man, but who because of an accident decides he's not going to pretend anymore and be who he really is; a gay man. But living life as a extravagant homosexual is an expensive one so Steven decides to become a con man. However the law catches up with him and he is sent to prison for insurance fraud. While in prison he meets and falls smitten with fellow inmate Phillip Morris, and for him Steven tries to change his criminal ways but finds it's not easy.
