Dracula: Dead and Loving It (1995)
Leslie Nielsen plays Count Dracula in this hysterically funny Mel Brooks parody of the 1992 Bram Stoker Dracula film. Thomas Renfield, a solicitor from London arrives at Transylvania to work for the Count. When Renfield accidentally gets a paper cut, the Count can't help but be tempted by the blood and so he transforms Renfield into a vampire as well. Dracula and Renfield travel to England and while Renfield is in the lunatic asylum, Dracula meets his new neighbors; Doctor Seward, Jonathan Harker, Seward's daughter Mina and Mina's friend Lucy. When Doctor Seward finds Lucy is ill not long after meeting the Count, he calls upon Doctor Van Helsing to find out why Lucy has strange puncture marks on her throat. Meanwhile Dracula has plans to woo Mina and make her his bride for all eternity. One of the funniest spoofs of horror I've seen; Leslie Nielsen is bloody good. Starring Leslie Nielsen, Peter McNichol, Steven Weber, Amy Yasbeck, Lysette Anthony, Mel Brooks, Harvey Korman 6/10
