Bananas (1971)

Fielding Mellish is a clumsy consumer products tester. He meets Nancy who is a political activist and falls in love with her. But she breaks up with him when she admits that she is looking for someone with greater leadership potential. So Fielding quits his job and goes to San Marcos where he becomes a rebel and eventually the President of San Marcos. When Nancy meets him one day to say how much she admires him, she doesn't even realize it's Fielding until he takes off his fake beard. She ends up falling for him now that he's this great leader. A crazy satirical comedy with many terrific one-liners. Starring Woody Allen, Louise Lasser, Carlos Montalban, Howard Cosell 8/10
