Sin (2003)

Eddie Burns is a retired cop who lost the use of his left arm in the line of duty. When he finds out his junkie sister Kassie is violently raped and left for dead, Eddie takes the law into his own hands and vows to find who's responsible. What Eddie doesn't know is that a man from his past is connected with it. A sadistic man by the name of Charlie Strom; a producer of pornography movies, Charlie has been supplying the drugs for Kassie. Average dramatic thriller that feels like a modern-day western. Starring Gary Oldman, Ving Rhames, Brian Cox, Alicia Coppola, Kerry Washington, Bill Sage 6/10

Well I really liked this film except for Ving Rhames. I'm not a fan of his or his work. Not alot of good reviews for this film, but I've seen worst, not that this was. My favorite scene was when Charlie was in that cool mirror, and when he got teary eyed, I just wanted to hug him. I also liked where Charlie is standing in that dark blue suit. He looked hot! I know Charlie was a unsavory character, but it didn't sit well with me when succumbed into the quicksand :(

Ving wasn't too bad, I think he was good in the Dawn of the Dead. This film isn't as awful as people think, as you've said you've seen worse and I agree. As horrible as Charlie was, I agree I still felt empathy for him too, especially when he was crying and when he met his demise.

I've only seen Sin once. It wasn't the worst movie I've seen, but I don't think it's one I'd like to watch again. I can understand Charlie's reason for hating Rhames's character, but because he was a criminal he did what he knew how to do and not see his brother as a bad guy.

I agree, I've seen far worse films than this one. Neither Eddie nor Charlie were innocent, they both did terrible things, so I guess they both had it coming. But I thought they were a good match. ;)

Thought Sin was just ok...could have way better. The car chase towards the end was really silly...plus the bit with the quicksand.
