My Cousin Vinny (1992)

Bill Gambini and Stanley Rothenstein are two friends from New York University who've received scholarships to UCLA. They decide to take a little road trip to Alabama for vacation. They go to the local convenience store to pick up some food and snacks. Not long after they get stopped by the cops and are arrested. Apparently, they get mistaken for two other men who have robbed the same convenience store and shot the clerk. And in the south, the punishment for first degree murder is the death penalty. They can't afford to get a lawyer, but luckily they find one in the family; Bill's brash cousin Vinny. Vincent Laguardia Gambini and his loud mouth fiancee, Mona Lisa Vito drive down to Alabama. But unfortunately Vinny is inexperienced in being a trial lawyer or any kind for that matter because he's failed the bar several times. But Vinny tries his best in defending his clients to the best of his ability. However, he has a lot to deal with; battling with a no-nonsense judge, noisy hotels and Mona Lisa who wants to desperately get married. Will Bill and Stan keep Vinny on or go with the public defender?
Joe Pesci is terrific in his best comedic role; so is Marisa Tomei who won an Oscar for her performance. Starring Joe Pesci, Ralph Macchio, Maria Tomei, Mitchell Whitfield, Fred Gwynne, Lane Smith, Austin Pendleton, Bruce McGill 7/10
