Travolta plays Jack Terry, a sounds effects guy who one night while out recording sounds for a movie, hear a shot, a blow out and sees a car drive over a bridge and crash into the water. He ends up saving the girls that is in the car, but later discovers that a governor who was also inside the car, was not so lucky. After finding this out however, Jack believes that it wasn't an accidental blow out, that someone deliberately shot at the car in order to kill the governor. An interesting and gripping film, easily one of Travolta's best performances. Starring John Travolta, Nancy Allen, John Lithgow, Dennis Franz 7/10 Rated R

10. The Nine Lives Effect: The killer is presumed dead, but still gets up at least two or three more times
11. When someone wants to get away in a car, it almost always doesn't start
12. The best friend/neighbor/wife sneaks up on the someone
13. The hero and villain stand on opposite sides and run really fast toward one another
14. The victim in a horror movie sits sprawled on the floor waiting for the killer to murder them instead of running away

Character Spotlight: Carlito Brigante
After spending five years in prison for a thirty year sentence, Puerto Rican drug dealer Carlito Brigante is let out, largely thanks to a legal technicality found by his friend and lawyer David Kleinfeld. However, life outside of prison isn't an easy one, especially when he reunites with his old gangster pals and they want to pull him back into a life of drugs and crime. But Carlito vows to go straight, and has his own dream of retiring to the Caribbean where he plans to open a car rental place. The character of Carlito was originally introduced in two novels written by Edwin Torres: After Hours the first and Carlito's Way the sequel. In actuality, the story of Carlito is somewhat based on the neighborhood barrio Torres grew up in, and is what inspired him to tell the story of Carlito. The sequel Carlito's Way was later made into a 1993 film, starring Al Pacino.
